Welcome

My name is Felicia, and I'm here to be your guide. I have spent the past several years in Law Enforcement, working for a San Francisco/Bay Area/Peninsula Police Agency.

While working full-time as a Police Officer, I have earned my Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology. Upon completion of my Degree, I become a member of the Forensic Mental Health Association of California (FMHAC) and the International Association of Correctional and Forensic Pscyhology (IACFP). These Organizations focus their attention on dealing with the mentally ill, which have one way or the other, entered into the Judicial/Correctional Systems.

Based upon my training and experience, I have focused on working with People who have Developmental and Behavioral Disabilities. I was tired of consitently dealing with other peoples problems and not having anybody find a solution, or have them evaluated so they could be placed in an appropriate location (the habitual 5150, abated call).

I have completed the CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) training and continue to update my skills via classes on a regular basis. I recently presented a "Detecting Malingering On The Streets" workshop in the 2010 International CIT conference.

I am an Adjunct Professor at Holy Names University in their Master's Forensic Psychology Program.  My classes include "Psychology of the Offender" and "Psychology of the Victim", as well as "Understanding Criminal Behavior" as related to mental illness and substance abuse. My classes focus on the "reality" of the streets and bring a real world view (Professionally and Legaly) into the classroom.

I recently obtained my California P.O.S.T. (Police Officers Standards and Training) Master's Instructor Certification with an emphasis on adult based learning.  I am currently designing web based tutorials which will allow for continued learning in a budget concious environment.
